Being a Dom is about commanding respect....
not demanding it
Sometimes being a Dominant isn't just about collaring her, putting her at your feet and ordering her to suck your cock. Sometimes it's about your responsibility for another human being, and to identify the issues she faces. To assist in putting all the broken pieces back together again...
I often get asked what being a Dom is all about. There are many facets to being a Dom. A Dom is about strength and power. It's about understanding and empathy. It's about control and regiment. It's about fulfilment as well as fear. It's about accomplishment and failure. It's about pleasure and pain. It's about the ability to Dominate a willing and submissive subject.
An ability to command respect and submission, instead of demanding it. You can always tell a Dom that lives and breathes Domination. They command respect and submission, never demand it. An inexperienced, pretend or fake Dom, who has maybe read a couple of books or watched a movie, doesn't command respect. Instead he demands respect and submission. And always fails.
I've said it many times before, and I'll say it many times in the future. "Being a Dom isn't about convincing her to be a naughty little slut for you. It's about being the kind of man that she wants to be a naughty little slut for. Enamour her mind, and empower her soul, and she will give herself to you, without hesitation."
Domination occurs when you truly learn to connect with your submissive. It's not about face to face action, or simply placing a collar around her neck. They are simply outward gestures. To truly Dominate, you need to connect on a subliminal and subconscious level. Connect with her very core.
You take the responsibility of ownership of a submissive's body, spirit, soul and very essence. It is about ownership of her body, but it is also about being a guardian of her soul, and a caretaker of her essence, and a guide for her spirit.
As a Dom, our pledge is as complex as it is simple. Especially if the submissive has been broken by the toxic actions of another human being at some stage of his / her journey of life. Our responsibility, as a Dom, is to identify those issues, isolate the submissive's nightmares, subjugate their demons, and to allow them to emerge from the fog of pain and desolation that has tortured and imprisoned their soul for so long.
To pick the submissive up and lift their broken spirit. That spirit of self that has been shattered and dehumanised from years of physical and psychological trauma and abuse. Toxic humans, believing they have the right to make the submissive feel beneath them, to make them feel worthless as a woman or man, but especially as a human being.
A Dom’s need to nurture is both obligatory in its moral and ethical drive. A real Dom needs to rebuild the submissive's body and mind. He will join the jagged remnants of their shattered essence together again, piece by piece, bit by bit, as he assembles those beautiful and unique pieces of him / her on a foundation of trust, care and empathy. He will forge and empower the submissive’s spirit to grow strong again, to rebuild the real person within, and for the submissive's soul to begin to feel once again.
He will empower him / her as a submissive. He will empower him / her as a man or woman. He will empower him / her as a human being.
A Dom doesn't just order you to kneel at his feet and serve him. He, in fact, serves your soul. Without you, his submissive, being empowered as a sub and a human being, he Dominates nothing but an empty shell and his own empty fantasies....
As always, I hope you are enjoying your kink journey.

Disclaimer : This post is not about all subs being broken. Many subs are not broken, but many, in turn are. Do not concentrate on what's not covered in this post (the different types of subs, the different bottoms, the ones that are not hurt, and so on), but simply instead concentrate on the message that's in the article. A message about Doms taking responsibility to assist those subs in need of that assistance, instead of just Dominating a sub for personal and sexual gratification alone.
