“hello any tips on makeup? foundations etc ? thanks “
Reply from Christi: Hi and sorry for the late reply. I do actually. And that is for your foundation look into ordering a Ben Nye (brand) product called a Beard Cover. You want the Olive color. Ben Nye is a well known name in the theatre industry with a high quality line of makeup. This product is applied just like any other foundation. It is made to hide any sign of beard or hair growth which it does so through its color. This then is topped off with Ben Nye translucent powder (it is pink/tan in color). You use a powder brush and put this on top of the foundation. You face then is ready for the night and into the next day if necessary and ready for you to add whatever eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick, blush, etc., that you want to put on top. But it all starts with a foundation and I feel that the Ben Nye product (which was designed for male actors that portray female characters) is the best and because it was for Man to female character acting differs itself from standard foundations that are designed for women's fair and even (and hairless) skin to begin with. The Ben Nye product counters what would otherwise be called the "5 o'clock shadow". For everything else you can get whatever brand is on sale at your local d**g store. If you have a Beauty Store that is like an outlet you could get huge savings on basic items like nail polish you can get for $2 a jar, and eyelashes you can get for the same price. So there are some items I am fine getting in a d**g store such as L'Oreal lip liner, or Revlon lipstick. And others like fingernail polish and fake eye lashes I will get in a Beauty Supply store. I put on my make up usually in the following order: as close a shave as possible (gotta go against the grain)... skin should be baby smooth even in the opposite direction to your hair rowth. Followed by Ben Nye foundation and translucent powder used to set the foundation and give you natural skin tone. Next I will put white eye shadow beneath the lids of my eyes and up to my eye brown and do my eye brow also to lighten it up and not make it as noticeable (my eye brow). So I will then have a whiteness around my inner eye that makes my eye "pop". I then add a darker color *usually blue) on the eye lid, followed by a lighter color above that, followed lastly by an even lighter color that whisps out in either direction from my left and right eye. Next comes the eye shadow. Followed by eyeliner. Next and last comes the fake eye lashes. Once eyes are done then it's off to the lips: lip liner (just outside your natural line), lipstick (love the kind that you use a small brush for versus the old school tube kind), and then gloss.
Then comes the blush. Perfume on the neck, left wrist (rub your wrists together after spritzing of the wrists), and below the waist for who knows what might happen later in the evening occasion. Sometimes I put black mascara on my lower set of natural eye lashes. Followed by wig, necklace, earrings, bracelets, rings, etc. For when I start this process I have already my outfit picked out and am wearing whatever lingerie I plan to wear for the evening. At the very end after putting on my jewelry, I look myself over one more good time in the mirror and off I go! When I first started it seemed like it would take me 2 hours. Now it's 30-45 minutes. Hope some of this information was of help. Best regards, Christi
