I have not heard that word used in relation to porn made in Europe or the States for many years.
Humour
Although it doesn’t sound like it from the scenes I described above, there is certainly humour in some Japanese porn. Newscasters reading serious scripts in TV studios whilst faceless men ejaculate on their faces and heads (the genre is popular enough to have a name: “bukkake tv”), game shows where contestants have sex with disguised strangers only to have it revealed later that the strangers were close family members, naked sports, and the very popular reverse schoolgirl gangbang in which several nubile schoolgirls overcome their male teacher and gangbang him in the classroom. They have enough to put up with. The mosaic also disguises the fact that most male actors in JAV wear condoms and a lot of the cum is fake. And when I say a lot, I really mean that almost all of it is fake.
Censorship
Now let’s talk about censorship. All JAV for domestic consumption obscures cocks and cunts with a “mosaic”, an artificially imposed pixelated digital monstrosity. One just has to live with it but really it’s cultural vandalism of the worst kind. There is often extended dialogue in JAV when that is now very rare in porn made anywhere else. As a result, one can use the word 'film' seriously when referring to Japanese porn. I have not heard that word used in relation to porn made in Europe or the States for many years.
Humour
Although it doesn’t sound like it from the scenes I described above, there is certainly humour in some Japanese porn. Newscasters reading serious scripts in TV studios whilst faceless men ejaculate on their faces and heads (the genre is popular enough to have a name: “bukkake tv”), game shows where contestants have sex with disguised strangers only to have it revealed later that the strangers were close family members, naked sports, and the very popular reverse schoolgirl gangbang in which several nubile schoolgirls overcome their male teacher and gangbang him in the classroom. But one of my favourites is the pee desperation genre. This exists elsewhere too but it’s not quite the same. Look at this. What makes it uniquely Japanese is that the pissing girl is wearing school uniform. And she is taking detailed careful instruction to urinate in small quantities. In any other country’s porn, she’d just let a stream rip! Probably through her jeans.
Tenderness
If you think that JAV is only about hostility toward women you would be wrong about that too. There is vastly more tenderness and more time taken over that aspect than in Western gonzo porn or even in Western porn before gonzo took over. In gonzo, everyone gets to fucking pretty much right away and an actor is more likely to spit in an actresses mouth than to kiss her. If he does kiss her it will be an aggressive thing. But in JAV there is a lot of gentle kissing of mouths, rubbing and intertwining of tongues, kissing of body parts, and especially a lot of licking of mens' nipples. And these scenes are often quite long and drawn out. So it is a serious contradiction. Actresses
Easily the single most amazing thing about JAV is the actresses. There are so many of them. I have previously written in another blog here on xHamster that if a Japanese girl is amongst the prettiest in her class at school she is more likely to end up in porn than to go to university. And careers in JAV are notoriously short and intense. Most actresses work only for a few months. Highly successful actresses may stretch that to a few years. Few last any longer. But during their short careers they make work up to 28 days a month and release dozens or hundreds of films for which they will be paid between US$400 and US$1,000 a day. It has become almost like a rite of passage for young women in Japan: graduate high school, get fucked daily by strangers for several months, make a lot of money in a short period, and then move on. And then getting fucked and gangbanged by mature men. It’s such an amazing, exciting thing to see because we have never seen anything remotely like it in commercial Western porn. The actresses are really 18 or older, of course, which means that one can enjoy it with a clear conscience. Not all nor even most of those tiny girls are attractive to me just because they are small but the few I do like, I like a lot including Mimi Yazawa and Shuna Kagami, wow! It’s so hard to find modern porn made in the West with actresses who are not covered in ink and studded with piercings, and who genuinely look like teen girls or, in extreme cases, even younger. In Japanese porn, there are high numbers of actresses like this, dressed like students and being fucked by their daddies, and fucked by their brothers, and fucked by their schoolteachers. And all of their bodies unblemished by ink without exception. It’s amazing.
No commentary on contemporary JAV would be complete without mention of the wonderful Rara Kudou. At 22 and still *******2 cm tall, she had made a career out of cosplaying a character altogether more youthful. And she is excellent at it. She’s also one of the more ambitious JAV stars. Therefore very little of her in xHamster but there is this scene (for now) in which little Rara gets vigorously penetrated by a man her grandfather’s age.
Although large orgy scenes exist in the porn of other countries, especially porn coming out of Germany and Eastern Europe, I have never seen anything on quite the scale of the one below and with only young women in their twenties or younger in the scene. That this many young, attractive and willing women are available for a scene like this is itself extraordinary. Personally, I think it’s very healthy. There is no reason to be ashamed of sex. And Japanese culture encourages sex to be treated as a health issue.
This abundance of fabulous young cunt, refreshed annually by a new graduating class, is a gift to pornographers and to porn fans. To wankers everywhere, this extraordinary opportunity to see the very best of an entire nation’s beautiful young women debut each year naked, spreading their legs, and fucking and sucking cock, is a very wonderful thing and something to celebrate. Nothing anywhere in the world compares to the scale on which this takes place in the land of the Rising Sun. I am sure there are some who think this is a tragedy for Japan. I see it exactly the opposite way: it is a massive improvement on the repression and hypocrisy that went before this. I hope it lasts. But it probably won’t because few things this good do.
Although there are plainly misogynistic elements in JAV, I have never seen any Japanese porn make any attempt to emulate the physical dangers of some porn made elsewhere. Although anal sex and double penetration exists in Japanese porn, it seems comparatively rare. And I have never seen double vaginal, double anal or triple anal. I suppose that with Japanese censorship masking the orifices, there is little point in attempting these dangerous acts if they are obscured. And that must be a relief for JAV actresses. They have enough to put up with. The mosaic also disguises the fact that most male actors in JAV wear condoms and a lot of the cum is fake. And when I say a lot, I really mean that almost all of it is fake.
Censorship
Now let’s talk about censorship. All JAV for domestic consumption obscures cocks and cunts with a “mosaic”, an artificially imposed pixelated digital monstrosity. One just has to live with it but really it’s cultural vandalism of the worst kind. One can only hope that some day the original films will be released and that this does not come too late and before interest in one’s favourite scenes wanes to the extent that there is no market for it. Every now and then, an uncensored film “leaks” from the archives, liberated one assumes by an errant employee motivated by financial gain, indignation at the inane stupidity of this kind of censorship, or genuine love of the cunt of the actress concerned. When it does, it’s a cause for significant celebration amongst JAV fans. There is also software available that attempts to replace the mosaic with an A.I. reconstruction of what might have been there. The results are mixed to put it at its highest and rarely worth the trouble. It’s not the lovely actresses real cunt, it’s a computer simulation based on thousands of pictures of other, random cunts. This censorship persists in Japan without much change for two reasons: first, a cultural one - it is rarer for any individual to challenge the status quo than in Western countries and two, the censorship is applied and monitored by the JAV industry itself rather than the authorities. This is interesting because in most porn from other territories since the 1990s, pubic hair is exception rather than the rule. But, I suppose, when there is a mosaic over the cunt itself, the hair serves a purpose in marking the area of a fan’s interest.
Conclusion
I have now seen quite a lot of JAV. I don't find much of it easy to masturbate to. I think that is because the subject matter is often quite serious. And the mosaic does not help. But there are some exceptions (the early Ichika Nagano scenes like STARS-127 and much of Mimi Yazawa's work including the one earlier in this blog are very stimulating to me). And I like the abundance of father and daughter and uncle and niece sex a lot. The way it is done in JAV is refreshing. There is no attempt to cover-up what it is. The same applies to the younger looking actresses. It is quite plain what they are representing. And the prevalence of schoolgirls in uniform is also of interest. There is still an element within much Western porn of trying to half-pretend the role is of an 18 year old when it should not be, even if the actress is that age or older. Or that it is a scene between stepfather and stepdaughter when it should be between father and daughter. It is all acting between actors who barely know each other so I don't see the point in all that bullshit pretence. And I have no time for bullshit. I like watching women get fucked by their daddies. I also find that I have a much higher tolerance for violation in Japanese film than I do in Western videos, where I admit to being rather squeamish. And that is fortunate given how prevalent that theme is in JAV. But it is all fiction, after all. All JAV actors are adults.. There are no real daddies and daughters either. And no-one is really violated. And there is just so much Japanese porn - an estimated 5,000 new titles come out each year. That is 14 a day! JAV is an undisturbed treasure trove to those like me, who have only begun their study of it in earnest quite recently.
