Operations in Limbo
There has been a tsunami of changes from XHamster in the last week. My account was suspended, then re-instated. Now all my galleries have been marked "waiting for moderation". They haven't answered my support requests, so I don't know why things changed, or if/when they will get back to normal.
If I were to guess, I'd say that had new legal advice or action on computer generated content, and they're scrambling to adjust their policy to be compliant. This is an emerging field, so it wouldn't be completely surprising. Half my interest in posting this sort of content is to bring those sort of questions up so they can be addressed. I do my best to do this in a responsible and ethical way, in a conscious effort to provide the industry with an example of how it can be 'done right'. It is better that guidelines and policies are established around someone acting with honest intentions to contrast with how this technology can be misused.
We will have to wait and see. They may decide to ban all computer generated content. That would be disappointing, but I an see it being the most legally safe option for them. Hopefully they will instead adjust their guidelines, be able to state a clear policy, and produce good and enforceable guardrails.
In the meantime I'm going to hold off on trying to post galleries or videos until the waves settle. I do have some written smut in the pipeline, so I may focus on getting that out. Illustrations will have to be "theater of the mind" for now though!
