The gas that Trump passes comes out of his mouth.

fuckface/SUBVERT-1/Comrade Bullshitsky/the King-of-Pain-in-the-Ass/*it* doesn't stop at being 2-faced (like a 'normal' person would). It uses as many faces as are needed to get through yet-another-day of serving nothing but itself.

"Trump lies. Then he lies about lying. Then he lies about lying about lying. Then he lies about lying about lying about lying. Then he lies about lying about lying about lying about lying. And he does this all the time."

~Conservative (former-Republican) attorney George Conway, speaking live on the inaugural broadcast of the new MSNBC news-and-information panel-discussion show "theWeekend" moments ago.

to oldjacker67 : That of course is not quite right. There is an elected assembly in Russia, the Duma, and there are even elections for President. The problem is that in both cases they have become a sham, and only trusted people can run as candidates, and sometimes, as you say, people who have the temerity to run as an alternative candidate find themselves in prison. I think that could be the process here. There are still elections but the candidates are heavily selected and the powers of the Congress will be weakened or diverted.

to DrWhoWhatandWhere : That on top of the genuine fear on the part of supposedly sensible GOP pols of what der Pumpkinfuhrer's followers might do to any Republican elected who resists him. . . We've gone way beyond the fear of being primaried in any re-election campaign, but to threats of actual vi*ol*ence and may*hem to yourself or your loved ones. The McKay Coppins profile on Romney seen recently in the Atlantic highlighted that.

to Nickyhere : Hopefully we will find him in jail but the more he continues to spew election and other lies the more his base rallies behind him. What distubs me most are the elected Republicans who fail to speak out against him and his lies because they get in his wake and get pull along and garner the support of his cult. The more he repeats the lies the more these lemmings consider them facts...so sad

to Nickyhere : I couldn't agree more. As noble as it sounds it has not worked out for the better especially in the middle east. Peoples and cultures should be allowed to evolve on their own even if we don't like what we see. It's not like people aren't dying by the thousands already while we pretend to defend democracy.

to Nickyhere : And it is a mind blowing thing that such a large percentage of our population still endorses Trump. Not just for who he is but he did nothing while in office. No wall, no infrastructure, no trade deals with Chin*, no reining in of North Kore*, no manufacturing resurgence, no health care, no help for the middle class, nothing. His lies about covid led to the deaths of over 400,000 people. WTF is wrong with this picture. It is truly mind blowing.

to oldjacker67 : And I think America should think twice about peddling democracy around the world. Just as our country should have thought more about its stomping around in the past (and even recently).

to Nickyhere : If Trump gets re-elected our electoral process will be just like Russi*s meaning there won't be one. Unless you want to call getting rid of your opponents an electoral process.

Conway is an interesting character to say the least. I know he has to have moved in far more conservative circles than I would have necessarily appreciated. . . though possibly respected, in the normal give and take of our politics. I think family dinners in the Conway household for the past several years must have been pretty interesting until he and Kellyanne "Alternative Facts" finally split. . . I find his perspective now fascinating, and his legal take on things informative. If only we didn't have to track that madness!

to Olive8 : According to Wikipedia:  "According to reports, Trump has a licensing agreement with TMTG requiring him to use Truth Social as his primary social media platform and to wait at least six hours before reposting material to any other social media platform, with some exceptions for political activities." Elsewhere they report that he did return to the artist formerly known as Twitter last August. Musk re-opened the platform to him almost immediately upon his taking over Twitter and even before he cahnged it to "X". . . the unknown?

to Olive8 : Hard to imagine Trump being bound by any contract unless it were in his own direct interest. I think the point is that he hopes to make his media company big enough to be able to take money from it.

to emigre69 : You and I are probably getting less of it, as our preferred news sources, having been chastened by 2016, are not dignifying much of his rabid blather with airtime. That and his Untrooth Unsocial pulpit has a much smaller footprint than twitter had.

to oldjacker67 : Sadly I don't think it is quite that simple. He may eventually go to jail but I am sure that each step of the way will be accompanied by demonstrations which he sets up, possibly riots and other acts of v~iolence. A fade into obscurity is not at all likely.

to emigre69 : Yep although he has been a liar in public his whole life, now he just has a far bigger audience. Hopefully he just goes away. Preferably to jail.
