Common courtesy

Ok, so a few days ago I sent a few friend requests to people I saw comment on a video I watched. I got a couple of responses back and being courteous, I went to each person's profile and thanked them for accepting the invite. One individual went on a rant about me thanking them! I was like wtf? No problem. I just blocked them, no need to act like that and I sure as fuck do not need that kind of negative attitude. I actually feel sorry for them and anyone else that tries to friend them.
