Tributes
Tributes probably have a bad rep for multiple reasons. One, scammers. Two, because people wait too long to spring it on someone (string them along for half an hour then mention an application fee, a tribute or whatever). Three, because the advert or initial communication sounds like they're in it for 'fun' only to find out it's a business.
There's no way to spin a tribute. It's no different than camming or only fans. Only it does not have a shred of protection. The person can disappear in an instant, leaving a payer high and dry. And I have yet to meet a single 'mistress' that isn't a professional. They'll talk trash about how people can cry about tributes, but they still ask for them, but it's kind of funny in a way.
They want money, but then the payer is expected to be 'owned'. They pay to be owned. That doesn't even make sense.
They talk about time wasters. Tributes don't prevent time wasters. They just make angry people when things go down poorly or stop abruptly. Tributes don't do anything but put money in the pockets of people who aren't REALLY interested in the lifestyle. They just want a quick buck. The people who aren't scammers (I have a hard time believing they exist) are hampered by the ones that blatantly steal.
I have no interest in paying a tribute to then turn around and take orders from someone. Either it's all about the lifestyle and the interest together, or it's a pay to play service and it should be tailored as such. The worst part of tribute seekers is that they communicate horribly. It might work on someone who has never been involved in this lifestyle at all, but anyone who has looked into BDSM knows they're not communicating remotely well enough to be trusted.
And if they can't be trusted, then the relationship falls apart.
Had one scammer START the talk out demanding CBT. Most of them will say 'I read your profile' then ask redundant questions like 'what is your kink or limit'. They've given the whole concept of tributes a terrible name.
So it's no surprise that subs are frustrated and don't trust people.
