Desiderata:

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a c***d of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Ideals is the same of Utopia, business men know very well this and the point above Hide your real essence, because love is just a chemical reaction with low energy, functional to procreate, nothing more. Be scared, you're born just to die, the greatest gift of your parents. Be chaotic, chaos is pushing our galaxy to collide with Andromeda, we have just 4 billions of years to spend, is a short time for our Universe, you're just a blink of an eye in this mess and seems you doesn't have the right to stay here. This has been my "Motto for Life".....ever since High School. My words to live by have been posted on the wall near my dresser for years. I have given this to others in a framed poster for gifts, graduations, etc. Thanks for posting !!!!

They look like the words of a wise and not so young anymore! The aspiration and even the right to happiness is also in some Constitutions! Then there is the reality, the real world! I believe that happiness can not be striving to achieve, or we have or not have, and if we do not often realize it! Sometimes we are happy, just remembering the good moments of our past! Perhaps because we know that will never come again?!
