Fake! Too young! Why you are getting reported
There is an epidemic on xHamster that needs to be cured. Maybe I am preaching to the choir here; I don't know if any of the people to whom this is directed will ever read it. But silence implies consent, and in this case we should not remain silent.
Let's start with the cam rules. A lot of the more shrill and arrogant viewers are shocked when someone refers to the existence of rules. Surprise! Every cammer agrees to these rules when they start their show. People who say "it's her show, she can do what she wants" and similar ass-kissing drivel have no clue how the site works. The space to do a show is provided by xHamster. The servers are xHamster's resources. True, the cammer does have a lot of choice in what they do or don't do, but they sure can't break the rules.
Here are some of the most violated rules, rules which anyone can see by clicking on the "Start Broadcasting!" link at the top of the Live Cams page.
* You must be 18 years old or older *
Here is the deal: if you look very much like you're under 18, and you're not a pro model (which means that age verification was provided), you will likely be reported. If people are asking you to show your ID or making comments about being below 18, that's a red flag. Granted, some girls look young but are over 18. After speaking with some reviewers on the subject, it is up to the cammer to remove the doubt. If someone even APPEARS under 18, and can't prove otherwise, they will be terminated by xHam. According to the reviewer guidelines, "The legal age of the person in the picture is questionable, with a high probability under 18." (Thanks Rock_Bitch) To the viewers who spew hate on anyone who reports a girl for being below 18: you're on pretty thin ice there, partner. Like'em young, do you? Please just STFU and let those of us who know what we're doing try to keep this site safe.
* Your webcam must be live, video recordings and static photos are not allowed *
* You must have the working microphone and communicate with your visitors *
Does this even need explaining? The purpose of "live cams" is to have a performer or model who is interacting with the users. If you have your mic off, you are not interacting, and you have the chat shut off, or any combination of these, people will suspect you are fake. Unfortunately, there is not a button to report "not interacting with users" so most people will report it as pre-recorded, which is the closest category. Again, if people are screaming that you're not live, that's a red flag. If you ARE live and people are calling you a video, you're doing something really, really wrong. I don't apologize for accusing someone of being a video if they will let people debate the subject for 15 minutes before proving they are live.
* You are not allowed to advertise any other websites and spread any spam *
Yeah, there is a rash of cammers who sit there doing nothing with a status telling users to go to Skype or another website. Really? Reported. Don't play dumb. You know what you're doing. You're wasting bandwidth and stealing xHamster's resources.
By the way, if you're a viewer and you've read this far, you should be aware that you have an ability and a responsibility to report. For non-pro models, you can also go to the profile and click the spam link if they're spamming or faking or advertising other sites. That feature should be there for pro models too, but you can't have everything. And don't worry about the sniveling, desperate haters who spew vicious insults at you for reporting; they have no leg to stand on and they are the same pathetic people who beat up others in the schoolyard for their lunch money.
This should be a fun and safe place to hang out. Breaking the rules simply pisses on the parade and causes strife. If you want to cam, then cam; otherwise, there are plenty of other places for you to be. If you're wondering why you keep getting reported, that might be why.
