    This is What I See

    This is the reason why I'm giving serious thought to completely sectioning off as "for friends only" all my albums.

    At the same time, I see comments like this. All positive, all supportive, all contrasting sharply with the voting.

    I know it's only 1-2 people going through the albums and down voting at seemingly random times as many of those down-voted images are great images.

    to iceice : Well, it looks bad to me. Makes my efforts seem unappreciated. I gain nothing from uploading besides a little bit of appreciation and maybe some recognition. No money, can't put it on a resume` or anything. I just share what I've found online and with a dozen downvotes on individual images within an album that album has a 0% approval rating. That's shitty. As far as what it may or may not cause, I did go from ~400 albums to 300 overnight a week or two ago now. 100+ albums just deleted, most with < 50% approval. It could be more related to a specific user reporting the albums, almost all hentai comics for "incest" or "under age" than simply voting, but both situation are equally frustrating.

    to pfrbca : I'm much obliged. Seems not very many do understand my frustration. It's not quite boiling anger, just frustration that the downvoting really throws off the voting situation which is very noticeable to me and I used to partially base my future uploads off of what received votes and all that. Those long red lines and 0% approval rating from 1 vote on an image + a dozen images out of 100 = entire album with 0% approval rating. 100 images that appears as though nobody likes. Frustrating as fuck!

    to twitchums : Trolls or not, it's infuriating to see my efforts get a 0%-49% approval rating with a nice red line indicating disapproval. I don't mean to bitch about as much as I do, but on my end it really takes up a lot of viewing. I can't NOT see it, you know? It's sort of like being a guy and being really short, like 5'4" or something. Everyone that sees you has a "shorty" or "little" comment and after too many of those comments, the guy starts bitching about it. Others tell him not to worry about, it can't be helped, while he's just stood there like "it can be helped, all they need to do is stop making the comments and I'll be happy." I have learned to temper my frustration with the encouragement found in number of views. the 10,000-40,000 views does give me reason to believe an album or video is quite popular despite the voting system.

    I do turn away quite a few empty profiles. Maybe the 1-2 that are targeting my uploads for downvoting were pissed off that I turned down their friendship, eh? It's possible, I reckon.

    Heh. I appreciate that. I hadn't noticed your comment here before but I had noticed the friend invites. Really I just sort of gave in after the 4th invite, I think, but now I'm glad I did. Support is always appreciated.

    Of course you have a fair point. Ignoring someone just trying get a rise out of me would have consequences but different consequences than bitching about it. As is, their trolling is throwing off the voting feedback mostly, but it's also discouraging to see my efforts earn me a 0%-48% approval rating, specifically in the albums. Downvoting maybe a dozen images in a 100 image album take that album to 0% despite 80+ images still displaying a 100% approval rating. How am I supposed to use that information to help guide my uploads now? All I can do is go off of view counts, and when those number stack up it can be quite encouraging. Tens of thousands of views does help persuade me that a certain album is popular.

    If pictures are thumbed down what's the effect? Is it just a rating or does it cause something?
