Gay Bathhouse - Good Idea?

So for a while now I've been thinking about going to a gay bathhouse while on vacation in Portland, OR (the bathhouse in question is called Steam). I have never had any physical gay sex before, though I've always wanted to try it. I'm a total virgin when it comes to that kind of thing (and I'm also STD-free).

Is this a good or a bad idea? What are your experiences (if any) with (gay) bathhouses?

to sbeach73 : Alright, thank you so much for the advice! After reading some comments I decided it probably wasn't the best idea and I'd instead stick to situations where I could confirm my partner's/partners' STD test results and status so I know for sure that I'll be safe. It's more enjoyable when you don't have to worry about it anyways.

Gay bath house are a lot different now then they were when I was going to them. Back in my days most sex was bareback and the thought of sucking a cock with a rain coat on it was appalling. In fact all sex was simpler back in those days. Nowadays always wear protection and even that doesn't always protect you. I would finds friends you can trust and hopefully one of them has a large bathroom you could turn the shower on and steam up the entire room and pretend you are in a gay bath house.

I would just say, think. It's prudent to just assume anyone fucking around in a bathhouse is poz. Protect yourself so you can live a long and fulfilling life.
