Why do people lie about their location?

I ask myself this question many times a day if I am online. I can figure why cam models do that. Perhaps, they a) really want to hide their home country to not be found by locals, b) want to seem more exotic for men, c) dream to really live somewhere else. It is all understandable. But... why do some guys lie about a place they are from? I honestly can't answer the question, but currently I am conducting an experiment to find out who is my real audience. I banned almost all the countries, except for those which I see mostly. I noticed that a number of viewers lowered and that's natural. But it doesn't mean that I only see UK or USA users now. Even those who were from those "chosen" locations, were asking me to unban their countries. Strange, right? Well, I don't think I've ever seen Tanzanian or Liberian flag on somebody's profile or ever seen a golden member from Paraguay. But apparently, they exist...
Maybe it is better to at least tell the truth about such a little thing as your location? Not a big deal and shows you as a person, someone real.
