to tomcat59 : Thank you for sharing. Some of the most beautiful women were the lesser known ones of the late 70s and early 80s. I wish I knew who she was as I'm sure I have seen her but I understand she may want to slip away quietly in the mists of time. Some of the features and loops might have been gritty but others were lush and colorful. Either way please thank her for me.

to continue....there are times now she wishes she had stayed in the business longer and been a star performer. However things were much different then....this is before VCR so movies were seen in actual movie "art" theatres or on an 8 or 16mm film in a private setting. I think the business was in it's infancy compared to the flood of porn available today... Maybe people were just a bit nicer 40 + years ago????

I have come late to this conversation, so perhaps no none will see my words; however....to add my 2 cents worth may be of interest. I am very close for the last 21 yrs with a woman who performed as porn actress in the late 70's and 80's with east coast companies. She was never a headliner because she did not want to be identified back in her home state by her parents or etc....I have seen a few movies here on xHamster where she has performed small parts..... Anyway, her experiences as told to me where very much positive and, she says, fun. She made a lot of money at the time and ws very happy in NYC. A small town girl from midwest, I suppose she was dazzled with the whole NYC scene and the attention she recieved.

I am a strong supporter of women protection in the industry, I recognize that it is entertainment but not at the physically demeaning practice without controls for the industry as well as having a balance for consumer of porn. I am for independent agencies monitoring licenses and creating controls for contents

That is what hit the core in the center.... i think, for me... that i feel, we comes blunt and dull.... always to be busy and surround... with the things we can see on all corner here.... and the gap between reality and illusion... comes bigger and bigger....

to Jana-chen : You're right, and it's good to see you are open to multiple views. I would advise you to look for some more objective sources than this woman though. A lot of her claims fall aparts under any serious scrutiny. If she was really worried about the fates of these women, I think she should do something about it instead of just doing speeches for sycophantic adiences. The could set up a 'pornstar union'. And while she's at it, try to get the male pornstars to get the same payment as the women ;) I think that deep down, she isn't trying to fix the problems in porn, but is angry at porn for some reason. She can't admit it, so she is cherrypicking for things to highlight. The same mentality can be found in many subjects, not just sex. People with personal issues that find something to outrage about, as a distraction so they don't have to face their own demons. But a lot of good research has been done on this subject, which you can find by googling it. If you're willing to read science papers that is ;) There usually is not one right answer in psychology, because a lot depends on people. And people can be very different.

to nakmuay1337 : The fact that you keep busy, with this theme, shows me... i was right to post this blog here, I`m not here only for show and share... the beautiful things... i`m here for show and share controversy things too, they are worth to consider and to discuss. I don`t run thru my life with closed eyes, without to look left and right, and take all things as they seems to be. More it interest me, to look behind the curtains. In all is to find more than only one truth. For me it`s important, not to see all in a criticless way and to accept all with no questions. Certainly not always comfortable for anyone. to Leaflee : I actually had a relationship with one (she started the work after I met her, I did not object). She liked it. She earned enough money in a summer to pay for 4 years of university. She told me that the other option available to her at the time (fulltime cashier for minimum wage) felt a lot more like exploitation to her. Also, she loved anal, without any ill effects so far. So as you see, context is everything.

I knew someone who lived with prostitutes. Because these women engaged in anal sex most of the time they were not able to hold in their gas. At the time I thought it was funny. Later I realized how physically demeaning it was for them. Two beautiful women who couldn't keep a fart in. So sad....I won't even go to anything else that might have been issues for them.

to Jana-chen : To be honest, i think it depends more on the intelligence of the consumer. An intelligent and mentally healthy person knows the difference between media and real life. I see it like professional sports. Just like sports, there are some risks if you take sex too far. You can get injured, sick, or even die. And yes, some pornstars get std's. I have been watching porn since i was maybe 13. But it never occurred to me that my gf should do full anal if she doesn't want it. Just like i don't expect her to have the skills of an olympic gymnast, or climb a cliff. But it can also be an inspiration. A way to find new fun things. They most important part is balance (just like with everything in life). Find your own limits and wishes, and use your brain.

to Jana-chen : So much of what you cite is from the vulgar view of Porn and some of it's viewers...And some of it's purveyors. As to women not liking what they're doing there are plenty of example of those who do, Allie Haze, Celeste Star, Tanya Tate, Julia Ann, and many others, who either are involved in just Lesbian or those who do both Hetero and Lesbian genres say they're proud of their work and are very happy with themselves. We've previously discussed the inane idea of pubescent presentations in both still and film products...I frankly find it abhorrent. Porn is an Adult medium and should never be allowed to venture towards extreme youths or either sex.

what about Nina Hartley shes been in porn for 40 years? Phoenix marie shes been in porn for about 10 years Veronica Avluv she does some really extreme stuff and shes still going so the idea of three month self life is laughable

i have been looking into the movement this woman is a part of, and while she may have a point here and there...i think she's not really approaching this in a way that would fit an academic. Some of the stuff she wrote is pretty much laughable even. Very biased. Which is a shame, because there may be a kernel of truth to it, that now gets lost between the nonsensical outrage she's spewing. I mean come on, this woman argued that people that engage in bdsm are just as criminal as the people in the abu graib prison.

to Chloyd : I agree in parts with you Sam... but not in all..... to say... * the Porn Industry is still one the best self-managed and monitored businesses in the World in spite of what it's many critics may say.* Then you forget... the sight from womens, who act in this industry... only a little percentage of womens, especially in the *straight* sector.... really like what they have to do..... That is like to answers the question.... what was the first... existent... the egg or the chicken.... Many fantasies... especially with teen males.... are first wake up with the crap we can see on every edge... and then they goes to her GF`s.... and want to act like males show her fantasies in straight pornos..... The Porn Industry by it's very nature is a cruel one, but it is one driven by fantasy. That fantasy element is brought about by the consumers. Sex by it's nature being given the reputation of being prurient by religious and social ethics critics, creates the Industry of fantasy. Critics of the Porn Industry generally fail to recognize these things. Because of the base nature of how sexual relations are perceived, regulatory elements then must be applied, but there's also the element of Free Speech invoked, (This first came about during the Burlesque of exotic dancing became more explicit.), also a Supreme Court decision. The injection of underage performers is the basest form of Human nature, (Or Inhuman more appropriately). It's fortunately been kept at a minimum and is really only a factor in Dark Web outlets, and Asian markets. The issue of prolapse videos is basicly specious nowadays, because most videos of this nature are Lesbian themed, with less opportunity for infections, other than those caused by poor hygienic standards and practices. For all of it's poor reputation, the Porn Industry is still one the best self-managed and monitored businesses in the World in spite of what it's many critics may say.
