Smartphone Apps

Something that I've been asked quite a few times of late, is whether I have such apps as Kik, Snapchat, and so forth. The answer to these is, sadly, no. I don't have a smartphone, only an old Alcatel flip-phone, which doesn't handle modern phone apps and getting them up and running on my Linux box, if even possible, is far to convoluted for an old middle-aged fart like me. I do have Skype, although I very rarely use it (not sure if my Linux version even actually allows video calls, or only text ... I do know that file transfers do kind of work, however ... after a fashion) - I'm not really that much of a conversationalist, I'm afraid ... although, it does have it's occasional uses, even if it is Microsoft and almost certainly full of spyware ...
