Whats happened to California

Back in the 80's and 90's we visited California a number of times a beautiful place L.A and San Francisco great tourist spots with sex on offer everywhere, most times we felt safe to roam around. Move forward to 2018 the place is filthy homeless everywhere begging on streets, if we were looking to meet swingers or sex partners these days I wouldn't move anywhere without an armed bodyguard in some areas. We were visiting friends and they were moving to Texas they said they didn't feel safe anymore, people contemplating a holiday there don't bother.
Just a point of view.

My family just moved out of California. It's the cesspool of the country now. You have filthy rich and filthy poor only there. It's what the country doesn't need to be like.

I think we have become to tolerant and politically correct , everyone is afraid to stand up and say enough is enough this has to change, if you do you are labelled racist, or abusing there human rights. All councils and governments hide behind some perceived law or lack of funds whilst pouring money down the drain on some pet project of theirs and riding roughshod over anyone who objects.

It seemed every time we went out their were people begging and they all looked stoned out of their minds, and our friend took us to show us all the people living on the streets we couldn't believe so called civilised cities could start looking like third world countries in some areas :(
