Help. My webcam won't play

Hi, any techies out there??
I keep trying to go on live cam but it won't work. I get the light coming on on the webcam but just get a blank screen. Shortly after I get the message that Shockwave has crashed. Any ideas how to get up and running in Live cam so I can share my wanking with every one.
