new year is not christmas"
And I will explain it again. First, I am Agnostic, former Orthodox believer, but still baptized. For me Christmas happens on the 7th of January, but I don't celebrate it. On the 25th of December I am on cam, because most of the world celebrates this holiday. I wear a red hat because it's a well-recognizable symbol, I don't wear it off cam. But the tree is important for me. Originally it's a Christian tradition, but in USSR it used to be a symbol of New Year and I was raised in this feeling. I decorate my tree in the beginning of December, because I wait for New Year and then we have Old New Year on the 13th of January. Only after 14th of January I feel that I can put my tree away till next year.
I don't have any particular eating habits for these holidays. Every New Year I have different kind of food and of course it doesn't matter for me what I eat for Catholic of Orthodox Christmas. But I am glad to support a Christmas spirit with special outfits which I keep specially for the season and this year I also made some special Xmas content. It's available throughout a year, but maybe December is the best time to enjoy it.
Happy holidays, no matter what you celebrate!
