You'll need:
1 lb. ground beef
baking soda (see below for amounts)

1/2 onion, chopped fine
oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=cup" target="_blank">cup</a> tomato paste
1/3 <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=cup" target="_blank">cup</a> ketsup
1 Tablespoon red wine winder
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
Fluffy <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=Hamburger" target="_blank">Hamburger</a> buns
Sliced <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=Hamburger" target="_blank">Hamburger</a> Dill pickles
PREP:
MIX 1 Tablespoon <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=water" target="_blank">water</a>, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=salt" target="_blank">salt</a> with beef.
MIX brown sugar, paprika, red pepper flakes and 1/8 teaspoon <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=salt" target="_blank">salt</a>
Mix 1/3 <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=cup" target="_blank">cup</a> ketsup, 1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar and t Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
Mix 1/2 teaspoon corn starch with 1 Tablespoon <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=water" target="_blank">water</a>
COOK:
Add 2 teaspoons oil to skillet and heat. Add diced onion and 1/8 teaspoon baking soda and stir for 3-4 minutes.
Add minced garlic cloves and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in brown sugar mixture for 30 seconds, then add tomato paste and stir 3-4 minutes.
Add ground beef to skillet, breaking up with a <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=spoon" target="_blank">spoon</a>, and cook 5 minutes until browned. Using a potato masher, mash beef 1 minute and then add ketsup mixture.
Add cornstarch mixture to beef and simmer, stirring, 1 minute.
Taste for seasoning- adding sugar <a href="https://image-seeker.com/s/?q=salt" target="_blank">salt</a> or vinegar to taste.
