The event is listed on tvChix events page. The loose itinerary is girls meet in the lounge of the Cosmopolitan Hotel near Leeds Station from 7:00 from where they can then spill out into Briggate which is at the heart of the Leeds LGBT district where there are a number of CD and Trans friendly clubs which are open at various times, some till 5:00.
Various factors including nerves have interrupted my plans but I eventually booked my room in the Cosmopolitan for 5th July together with my return rail ticket with my Senior Rail Card.
I arrived about 5:30, the reception is at one end of the main lounge and I could see the wigs of half a dozen early arrivals. Leaving my case in my room I decided to check out the neighbourhood and found that 6 or more of the recommended bars are very close by within 50yds of the hotel. Couldn't resist a pint in the sun and got into a conversation, as you do. By the time I returned it was 6:45 and the lounge was already filling so I raced to my room, changed and donned my nail varnish.
Bumped into Katie from TBirds in the lounge when I returned who welcomed me and gave me a little advice, "it's a party not a dating night, you may meet someone who you relate to and pair off if you're lucky but don't expect it" ( no I didn't get lucky ) and "some girls are quite happy to sit in silence all night and manners say you respect that so you have to speak first if you want conversation".
Spent some time in the Cosmo lounge, chatted with a number of people, some girls were with there wives, not many admirers present. Even managed to speak to a couple of faces I recognised as online friends, sadly the beautiful Helen's deep Yorkshire voice ruined one illusion for me.
Did a head count at 8:00, there must have been 150 present, people were constantly leaving and arriving, some apologised because it was a quiet night as it was July and it's Sparkle at Manchester next weekend but there still must have been close to 300 there in total during the night.
Decided to return to my room to powder my nose before stepping outside.
