LFF 3 Encounter on the Staircase
After powdering my nose I left my room and chose to use the stairs rather than the lift.
On the final flight the bottom of the stair it splays out to the right towards the reception where it discharges into the lounge.
I was just at the half landing at the top of this last flight when a couple of regular customers appeared at the foot of the stair having just left reception, they both gave me broad friendly smiles which I returned and moved to the side to allow me to pass as I was using the handrail. Near the bottom I turned my head to nod my thanks and that's when I noticed they were not alone. Between them was their son who looked about 8yo, he was frozen on the spot, his eyes were like saucers and his mouth was gaping in a silent 'wow'.
He may not have payed too much attention to the overdressed ladies in the lounge but the image of the bearded man with the painted nails in the white dress, maroon patent heels and decked in jewelry couldn't be missed. Hope I didn't scare him too much and wonder will he go on in later life to recount the exact moment he discovered he was a CD ?
