to Gamic : It was part of a series inspired by examples on medieval buildings in France, Germany and England. I was teaching Cubism at the time, if I recall correctly.

to Gamic : My American cousin, also an artist, was the first to recognise the phallus in a series of photographs I forwarded to her. I am currently working on a greenman with no erotic references. This is a commission for a client.

to Gamic : Yes, I am a sculptor, a stone carver. The photograph shows a detail of a greenman. The sculpture is referred to as "Pablo" because I worked with reference to Cubist theories. The erect phalus with the withdrawn foreskin is very evident in the detail or in the photograph but not so obvious when the work is viewed on its plinth in my studio. I chose this detail for my profile for its erotic references and also by way of humour. You are the first to raise the question about the phallic qualities of the work! Thank you.
