Several Controversial Opinions

In case you missed it first time around, here's my previous controversial opinions:
https://xhamster.com/posts/9690654

It's been a while since I last kicked a hornets nest, and it was so much fun last time that I'm going to do it again! I am well aware that, if such an afterlife exists, I am destined to spend an eternity in hell -- if I don't get into hell when I die and make it into heaven instead, then I'm suing God, the universe and every living sentient creature in it for denying me my rightful place in hell! >:P

I'm just making sure, with the help of this post, that I arrive in style! :P

As always, please let me know what you think of my opinions in the comments below!

Enjoy :)

1) Cerebral palsy sufferers should NEVER perform stand-up comedy!

Ooh boy, really long rant incoming! :P

There's been a recent (last couple of years) trend in entertainment which has seen the rise of cerebral palsy sufferers performing stand-up comedy. This should be entirely discouraged!

Note, I am not personally attacking those sufferers' disability. Believe it or not, but my icy cold heart does indeed have sympathy for theirs and any other handicapped peoples suffering. However, subjecting me and other viewers to the torture of watching them trying to perform a stand-up comedy routine, is a terribly painful experience that no one deserves to suffer through...

It is my belief that stand-up comedy requires the comedic performer to have a certain rhythm to their performance to connect and engage with their audience, as well as that priceless important tool in any and every comedian's arsenal -- timing.

Cerebral palsy sufferers' comedic timing is, due to the very nature and limitations of their physical disability, completely flawed and lacking. They can't help it, it's just the nature and limitations of their disability.

Whenever I watch a cerebral palsy comedian performing stand-up, it's never ever funny. It's not a fun experience at all. It's painful, and extremely uncomfortable to sit through for how awkwardly unfunny in it. Any laughs they get from the audience, is always a terribly obvious pat-ourselves-on-the-back self-righteous patronising pity laugh, from people not wishing to be mean or exclusionary to a disabled person. And the very worst thing a comedian can ever get from their audience -- even worse than total silence, it can be argued -- is a pity laugh.

People only laugh at their routine because they consciously/unconsciously pity them and believe, "Look how progressive and liberal I am being by laughing WITH this disabled person! I am enjoying this poor soul's attempt at being a normal stand-up comedian capable of telling a joke to an audience! Ha ha ha, oh what fun! Aren't I just so progressive and accepting of them! What a lovely human being I am! Enjoy my laughing with you, disabled person, you're as good as any other normal comedian I've seen, ha ha ha! :D"

Like, the audience members (despite their good intentions) that laughs along to their routine always have a real air of sniffing their own farts in smug self-satisfied, self-important, self-righteousness about them.

But here's the thing, the CP-sufferer's joke-telling is never ever funny due to the lack of comedic timing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying CP-sufferers can't be funny humorous people. If you chat with them in casual conversation, I'm sure you can have a funny engaging laugh at the world together. If you were to read their jokes written down in writing, it can very well be funny, witty, and humorous observations that makes the reader snort through their nose in amusement. It can be very funny comedic material indeed. But as soon as the CP-sufferer gets on stage and attempts to express their humorous material verbally, any comedic element to it all falls apart instantly due to the lack of comedic rhythm and timing that all stand-up comedians rely on to engage their audience and get the reaction from them that they desire.

For a genuinely funny performance and a genuine reciprocated laugh from the audience to occur, a stand-up comedian must perform their material like, "Set up for the joke. *Short build up of anticipation with a perfectly timed comedic pause* -- PUNCHLINE!"

When a CP-sufferer performs their stand-up, it's like, "S-eeett uuu..ppp. ...*painfully long and awkward pause as they helplessly and slowly flail their limbs and head about due to their unfortunate physical condition* Pu-unch.. li-ne..."

The comedic timing is always off. Every. Damn. Time. Which makes for a very uncomfortable and awkward watch for the audience. Which is made even more awkward by the pause after the punchline of the joke is awkwardly said, as the audience reacts like, "..Wait, that was the punchline - quick, laugh! Ha ha! Look, see! I'm a modern progressive 21st century human being, I don't exclude anyone! Ha ha! Ha ha! Very funny! Ha ha! I'm a good-hearted person with woke sensibilities! :D"

If a humorous, witty-minded CP-sufferer wishes to make the world laugh, they should stick to writing jokes/comedic material for people to read, or to give to a physically capable comedian to perform the funny material on their behalf. They should NEVER attempt to verbally perform the material themselves on stage, as it just never works as intended... And all that occurs from the audience is a pathetic, patronising, pity laugh.

2) Disabled people really should stick to their limits...

Speaking of disabled people doing things they that really can't/shouldn't do! :P haha

I am not, and will never, judge nor personally attack disabled people for having disabilities. Like always, I judge all people from every aspect of life based purely on the content of their character and their intentions.

So, once again, please note that I am sympathetic to disabled peoples' plight and struggles in life. If I am able to make their life a little bit easier (and are deserving of my kindness), I'd do so without hesitation, just like I would do for any deserving able-bodied soul going through a difficult time in their life. Contrary to popular belief, I am not a bad, heartless, evil person incapable of displaying sympathy and empathy to others.

It's just I'm a practical realist, and no one likes a practical realist :P

So with that said, I believe disabled people need to know what their limits in life are and stick to those limits. Just like every able-bodied person should stick to their limits, too.

It's just so stupid when people who are clearly physically/mentally incapable of performing certain tasks in life, try to perform those tasks anyway regardless because "I'm not going to be defined by my disability! Nothing's going to stop me or tell me I can't do something I want to do! :D"

Like, I can stand on the roof of a very tall building and declare with full self-belief and conviction, "I don't care if I don't physically have functional wings on my back. I'm not going to be defined by gravity. No one can tell me I can't fly! I want to fly, so therefor I will fly!", and then I jump off the building flapping my arms. Guess what's going to happen in that scenario? I'm going to go *SPLAT!* on the ground below! lol just because I really desperately want to fly, doesn't mean I'm capable of performing flight!

My point is, everybody (abled and disabled alike) should know their limits in life, stick to those limits, be as best as they can be in what they CAN do in life if they so desire to be good at whatever they do, and stop doing things they clearly aren't capable of doing just because they want to do it.

3) Sometimes, the victim can be blamed...

Obviously, this statement is very context sensitive, and should be applied on a case by case basis.

But yeah, there are certain situations in life where the victim of an unfortunate event is, at the very least, partly to blame for their misfortune.

For example, when someone is in a physically/mentally abusive relationship and have an out from it via a support network of friends/family who are constantly trying to help them to leave that relationship. When that person doesn't leave the relationship and decides stick by their abuser and stay with them despite being beaten black and blue every day, then that victim shares some of the blame for the abuse they suffer from it.

Or like, when someone keeps animals as pets (I'm a pet-owner!), even if they are a good responsible person giving their pet the very best love and care in the world, if they are suddenly attacked one day by their pet and end up either in hospital or dead from their injuries, you can't put all of the blame of it onto the animal for the bloodshed. The victim holds blame for what happened to them, too...

Or, if someone hooks up at a party with someone else, and they end up drunk off their ass and gives them the come on, and goes back to their place, strips themselves off and hops naked into bed with them, only the wake up the next day with no real memory of the night before due to all the drink they had -- sure, that is rape, and the person who still went ahead and had sex with a very drunk person who was totally incapable of giving them consent, is a rapist and should be treated as such. But in that very specific situation, the rape victim is also partly responsible for what happened to themselves. They aren't blameless innocent angels just because they're a victim.

People who smoke tobacco, and end up getting lung cancer aren't totally innocent and are as much (if not, more) to blame for their cancer as the cigarette companies who produced and supplied the poison in the first place.

Or, if a reporter reporting in an active warzone gets hit by a bomb or shot in the head or otherwise maimed/killed by violent action. They are partly to blame for their misfortune. Same as soldiers who willingly of their own free will and accord sign up to join the military, only to end up killed in action, do hold some of the blame for their life being cut short -- they might not (and in most cases, DON'T) deserve to be killed and it's a damned tragic waste of precious life when it happens, but if you willingly put yourself in harms way knowing the risks, you must also accept the consequences of those risks when your luck inevitably runs out.

Just like people who go hiking up remote mountainsides, and end up falling over an edge and cracking their skull open. You can't really blame the mountain, the unstable terrain, the slippery weather conditions, or the rock they cracked their head against for their injuries. You can, however, blame the victim who's now in need of rescuing, for willingly putting themselves in that position for the accident to occur in the first place.

Not every victim in life deserves whatever tragedy happens to them (although everybody always gets what they deserve in life, both good and bad), but some victims, in specific examples and cases, do hold at the very least some responsibility for their life tragedies...

to 666Rhino : Did you read my response to the previous comment?  The item that you replied to wasn't my answer.  And disabled people do have limits.  Epileptics are only allowed to drive within certain rules.

to toffeeman1705 : Really?  What a view.  How are we (I'm Disabled) supposed to expand our "limits" and become more useful, more able and more contributive?  Who the fcuk are you to tell me what I can and cannot do (provided I'm within the law)?  Would you really stop me trying to expand my horizons?  Thank God for the Disability Discrimination Act - and "Yes" I'm and Employer, and "Yes" it's an almighty pain in the ass complying with it.

Sensible views are a very dangerous tool for one to wield in this day and age of extreme overreactive ignorantism ;)

Exactly. It never washes with me whenever a drug (or insert any other vice here) addict cries about how difficult their life of addiction is for them, and how its all so tragic and they are the victims of it as it hurts them so. Like, if your actions are hurting you that badly why do you keep on doing it, or flat-out refuse the help that's offered to you to stop, or even return back to the addiction after you've already beaten it? And I say that as someone who interacts on a regular basis on very friendly terms with people with addictions. Some people just love to play the victim, it gives them a sense of purpose being a victim, they thrive off of being a victim, they enjoy the special attention they receive from being a victim. These people make me sick and I have zero sympathy/empathy for these "professional victims" :) ...Which is properly why I've never been offered the role as judge on a crappy TV talent show lol because as soon as someone on stage says through tears, "Oh woe is me! my best friend's neighbour's cousin's dog is addicted to cocaine and needs expensive rehab, which just breaks my precious heart in two and is how I plan to spend the £1,000,000 should I win this contest because I am just that good of a humble pious soul, waah I sure do hope I can win boo-hoo-hoo - vote for me :'( ..now listen to me play this sad song on the flute with my arse", I'd be like, "Nah. Fuck off, sad act, go sob to someone who cares, this isn't the time nor place for your victimhood shite :/" lol It's easy to find the real genuine victims in life who deserve peoples sympathy and acts of kindness, as they're the ones who take full accountability and responsibility for their role in their tragic circumstances, and they don't tend to make a deal out of how badly it affects them as they're more concerned by how it affects those around them. They're the ones in life who I have all the time in the world for and would do whatever I can within my means to make life just that little bit easier for them :)

I am honestly amazed that I haven't already been fired from my job, dragged naked through the streets with rotten produce launched at me from the masses lining the streets as the bell of "shame!" is rung aloud, and then hung by the neck until dead from atop the highest lamppost for having the sheer audacity to freely speak my mind and not placate or appease the sensitivities of the white middle-class metropolitan liberal elite... >_> Give it time :P lol

to toffeeman1705 : No I wasn't aware of that radio show, but I did a quick Google of it and it seems like a fun way to get stirred up in the morning lol Although being a BBC produced show, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the opinions expressed by the callers are only considered unpopular by the London-centric metropolitan liberal elite, such as someone calling up to say, "I think M+S' avocado tastes rather horrible on fair trade sourdough toast.", or, "I don't know, I just think that perhaps Gary Lineker isn't really worth his TV license-fee payer funded annual £1,700,000+ salary..." lol :P

to toffeeman1705 : Yep. Sometimes the universe just shits all over you just because it can and there's nothing you could have done to prevent it, and all you can do is clean yourself up, call the universe a dirty cunt, and avoid the temptation to personally shit on other people just so they know how you felt when it happened to you. Other times, there were obvious things you could have done to have avoided the universe's shit, but instead you painted a big target on your head and opened your mouth up wide after saying, "Don't worry, I doubt the universe is actually going to shit on me this time :)" lol

to toffeeman1705 : Giving up on something is always a worthy and honourable option for a person to take when all other avenues have been exhausted :) only a truly psychotic mental-case would ever keep on trying and trying again despite repeated failure, for the very definition of madness is to repeat the same action over and over again expecting a different result to occur each time lol Also, I tried to learn to play the guitar myself, I sucked real bad at it and after a very frustrating year of nonstop practise, never got any better or learnt anything more beyond being able to copy very simple chords and riffs from "easy to play" songs. I knew what my limits were and that I'll NEVER be a queen of the guitar no matter how badly I wanted it or how much study and practise I put towards it, I just simply lack the natural talent for it, and I'm at peace with my destiny :) so I sold my guitar to a music shop for the best price, put the money towards a new games console, and I've never regretted my failure since :) ...Although if anyone wants a lass to (poorly) play a simplified version of "Good Riddance (Time of your Life)" by Green Day, then I'm the bitch to call! :P lol

1) Cerebral palsy sufferers should NEVER perform stand-up comedy?  Well it might be a little harsh and I do believe that we all need to push against our own personal boundaries (like taking up the guitar at 63!) but there must be a point where you should admit defeat.  How about writing for other stand ups?
