Would you date someone who was HIV positive?

Yiss or no? Any reason why?

Honestly I don't think I could. :( I don't wanna sound like a ween but the risk outweighs the benefit. But then you think 'what if I'm turning down the best person in the history of ever?' But then it's HIV that comes with it. It's a tough one, I think. But then if I were with someone and they contracted HIV maybe I would think differently about it?

i think one can still have a fulfilling non physical relationship - but maybe i'm just an stupid old romantic - so i think i would. (Though it's possible i'm talking with a sense of desperation never having had a date... :) )

to slcpunk : Also, it's not the death sentence it used to be and can be easily treated. But if you were talking about a non-fatal STD like herpes would you still feel the same? I think a lot of it is the social stigma

One thing to consider is that if someone is being treated with antiretrovirals, the chance of catching it from them is lower than the chance of getting it from sleeping with a random person, given the chance they have it and don't know it. Still even so, I would be wary too, and I kind of feel bad about that.
