Gogol Bordello were incredible! They didn't have their accordion player with them this time which I kind of missed, but the opening band were a group of brass instrument players so they brought out the trombonist and saxophone player to join them on several songs. I haven't really seen them use brass instruments live recently so that was pretty cool. For the first few songs I stayed towards the back where the crowd was more relaxed, but as soon as I heard "Mishto!" begin I had to make my way to the pit where I spent the rest of the show getting pummeled along with the crowd and it was awesome. We all screamed along with Sergey as he sang his classic line "Start wearing purple for me now!" And at one point Eugene took a little break to sit down and read from a book while the trombonist did a solo, and then before joining in with the song he tore the book apart and threw the pages into the crowd. For the encore Eugene played "Sun is on My Side" by himself. Then the rest of the band came out to play "Think Locally, Fuck Globally" and then closed with "Pala Tute". Afterwards the band all came forward to the front of the stage to shake our hands. I shook Sergey's hand and he gave me a smile. It was a great night :D
